| New Moel Wnion Site Record! [06 May 2008] Pete Logan set a new record by flying 37.6km from Moel Wnion. See the Sites Records Page. View Pete's track log here. It was on the 2nd May and I landed on Towyn Beach. Probably the most scenic flight I've ever had. For anyone else that comes this way, I landed into wind heading WNW on the beach so there's some convergence that sets up with the sea breeze that I missed. I think the best route from Colwyn would be to follow the line of hills and A55 to St Asaph. After that its anybody's guess! Mal very kindly provided the retrieve. Snowdonia Sky Sports 2007 BBQ [05 Aug 2007] Snowdonia Sky Sports is holding a BBQ on Sat 1st September 2007 at the Llyn Gwynant Camp site. So don't forget to put it in your diary: Date: Sat 1st September 2007. Location: Campsite at NE end of Nant Gwynant. See directions & location map (www.gwynant.com). Find us on the lake shore. Time: 3pm till late. BBQ SSS Will Supply: BBQs, charcoal, firelighters & excellent company. Please Bring: Your own food/drink (& BBQ if you have one), camping gear & your very best humour. Swimming Gear: It is said that the lake is still great for swimming at this time of year! Canoes & Kayaks: Lake-side location, so if you've got one, bring one! Organiser: Nick Pipe (01248 602225). Time: BBQs fired up from 4pm, so kids are welcome for the early slot. Camping Camping Costs: £6.00 per adult, children £3 (age 4-15), children under 4 are free. Parking: £3.00 (if not camping). Boat Launching: £3.00. Annual General Meeting Fri 13th April 7:30pm [16 Mar 2007] The Snowdonia Sky Sports AGM will be on Friday 13th April 7:30pm at the Douglas Arms, Bethesda.
